WHO WENT FORTH…

The “Who Went Forth…” presents the life stages of the one-off child in lyric form, drama, gags and scenes told without words, with splendid humour added, with a constantly changing main hero, and with basic figures which return or recur in another way. It is a sort of “best of” composition which looks back and points forward at the same time: the 10th jubilee of the New Generation Pantomime Company also celebrates the onset of the Mimage Pantomime Theatre. Since the child could eventually struggle to his feet, and since the members of the new generation could go forth…
The performance contains mini-pieces defining the company’s history, and directions reconsidered by Veronika Karsai and András J. Karsai, only. Scenes which “became part of” the child, a.k.a. the New Generation Pantomime Company in the past ten years.
Inter alia, a banner is born because days which stir together and breathe together are always needed; someone looks in the mirror and glimpses his “unknown selves”; another travels around the world in 14 minutes and 38 seconds, and Willy Fogg will not come along him even now; and the personified T-shirts and slacks cannot still keep clear of the washing machine.
In this performance, the director of art, Veronika Karsai plays together with the New Generation Pantomime Company for the first time, and the Mimage Pantomime Theatre makes a debut. By animating the objects of an exhibition, Veronika presents their apprentices and the audience with a solo composition (“It is Also a Dance… – women figures in Heaven and earth”) yet unknown here but introduced in Cyprus; the artists of the Mimage Pantomime Theatre present their popular and entertaining “small film-story” entitled “As in the Movie” in which; for instance, Chaplin plays a role in Scream, the Diva of the Fifth Element breaks into a song, and the hero pursued by James Bond turns to Spiderman.
